Rebirth as BGALA

In the fall of 1988, the Gay People's Alliance (GPA) was renamed to the Bryn Mawr-Haverford Bisexual, Gay, and Lesbian Alliance (BGALA). This was in part due to increased activity and interest in the club following the Pink Triangle Controversy the previous spring[[LINK TO PAGE HERE]], and the ensuing "George" Honor Council trial. Additionally, as stated in this September 1988 article:

"The change in name was in response to complaints regarding the grouping of the gay, lesbian and bi-sexual communities all under the heading of gay. The new name will 'hopefully make all three groups feel that they have an equal representation in theorganization,' said Bernstein [co-president of BGALA]."
