About the Curators

Co-Curator Adam Waterbear DePaul is a Council Member for the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania where his roles include Storykeeper, Academic Liaison, and coordinator of the Rising Nation River Journey. He is an instructor and PhD candidate in Cultural and Mythological Studies at Temple University, where he co-curated Everyday Artistry, Enduring Presence in 2019.

Co-curator Lily Sweeney (she/her), the Joseph E. O’Donnell research intern for the summer of 2022, is a History major at Haverford College. Although she was the driving force behind the physical layout and interpretative text of the exhibit held in the White Gallery in the spring of 2023, all of her work was made infinitely better by the feedback and expertise provided by Adam Waterbear DePaul and by the partnership of Alex Rodriguez-Gomez.

Digital Exhibit Curator Alex Rodriguez-Gomez (he/they) is an Environmental Studies major at Haverford College. They worked in tandem with Adam Waterbear DePaul and Lily Sweeney to create a digital companion to the physical exhibit, developing the photo and video content seen on this website.

Acknowledgements

This exhibit was made possible by Haverford College Libraries, especially Librarian of the College Terry Snyder; the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship, especially Janice Lion; and the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Lutnick Library staff who offered guidance and valuable feedback along the way, Sarah Horowitz, Anna-Alexandra Fodde-Reguer, and Bruce Bumbarger. A special thanks to the Nation members whose art featured in this exhibit; we are honored to have been trusted with these items and hope we have presented them in a good way, as both a means to raise awareness about the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania and as art for its own sake.

To everyone who played a part in helping this exhibit thrive, wanishi.
