Title
Giving Liberty a Hand
Description
This is an article is the July 1984 edition of Boy's Life asking boys to donate money to the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. The article appeals to the boy's sense of patriotism, workmanship, and curiosity about the statue and how it was made. The three page article give details about its history and future. It is interesting that they encourage boy scout troops to donate money, assuming that all the boys reading this magazine are in troops. This magazine would have to be for middle class and upper class boys who could afford leisure time to read magazines, wealthy enough to buy them, and be part of boy scouts.
