Title
1863 Vicksburg, Mississippi Citizen Newspaper, Printed on Wallpaper.
Description
A newspaper for citizens in Mississippi that details the war, with a definite slant and focus on the southern success. The newspaper is printed on wallpaper which can suggest that paper was hard to come by and resources were more limited during war time. The page of the newspaper only covers the war and there is no mention of anything about daily life in Mississippi. The newspaper was also printed just days before Vicksburg falls to the Union. Since the newspaper only covers the battle, it shows that the citizens were more concerned being spectators of the battles then just going about their daily lives. They wanted to know what was happening in order to stay involved and take part in the honor and glory that battle gave
