The lessons Katherine taught me remain relevant today: even after facing hardships throughout her entire life, Katherine's story serves as a reminder that the interpersonal connections we create will always be important. When people are in need, especially people who have been displaced from their homes, we must do whatever we can to help them. And there are so many Holocaust narratives that go beyond the stories told in textbooks, so it is important to remain vigilant and keep all different versions of these stories alive.
