Introduction

I had the honor of getting to know Katherine, an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor from the USSR. She taught me many things: never leave something for tomorrow when you can do it today; don't be afraid to speak up for your loved ones; and it's always fun to learn a little Yiddish. This exhibition tells Katherine's life story, focusing on her journeys and the family ties that have kept her going along the way. In order to follow Katherine's long journey from Belarus to the United States, "Browse Exhibits" to the left of this page to travel through Finding Home: Familial Ties, Transnational Journeys.
